The Veloway Approach

ProcessVelowayRequirements / Assessments

During the Requirements phase of the Veloway lifecycle, WiiKno will work closely with your organization to establish a detailed Product Requirements Document that will establish the goals of your collaboration platform.  Through this discovery phase, we will ensure an end result that includes the following:

  • Scalability
  • Security
  • Standardization
  • Availability
  • Company Branding

Within this process, we will work closely to establish Intranet and Extranet access in relation to your needs.  Upon this discovery, we will cover options of our services which include:

  • Hosting
  • Search Engine
  • Corporate Branding / Skins
  • Taxonomy Creation / Modification
  • Customization / Add-ons (Mobile Apps)
  • Integration

During the design phase of the Veloway lifecycle, WiiKno will complete full documentation of your System Functionality Specifications.  This document includes the following design elements:

  • Technical Options
  • Logical Design
  • Physical Design
  • Security Design

Along with these specifications we will provide a detailed Project Plan, which covers the Deployment Schedule as well as Detailed Hardware Specifications to complete the project.  Finally we will include a Traceability Matrix document in order to develop a complete Initial Test Plan to be implemented during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This plan will outline the overall approach for testing, identify the resources needed for the UAT, and clearly define several test cases within the scope to be covered by the UAT. These test cases will ensure that each of the requirements identified in the Requirements Traceability Matrix has been addressed and met.

Depending on the scope of the project, the Build Phase of the Veloway lifecycle will cover:

  • Management of Hardware and Software Ordering
  • Operating System and Software Setup and Configuration
  • Hardware Setup and Configuration

This is when WiiKno will ensure that all pieces of the project are ready for full deployment.  We believe this is a process step that is often overlooked. Many organizations will go straight into a deployment phase risking potential delays in full deployment and potential lengthy outages.  WiiKno will utilize this phase to set up optional services such as

  • Taxonomy
  • Seeding Services
  • Skin Customization
  • Logical Zone Setup
  • Database and Reporting Configuration
  • Hosting Services

During the Deployment phase of the Veloway lifecycle, WiiKno engineers will work closely with your IT/Networking Department to identify scheduling timetables for project implementation to ensure continued and increased productivity.  Depending on the scope of the project, the Deployment phase may include Installation and/or Configuration of Firewalls and Load Balancers, VPN Configuration as well as configuring Access Control.  During this phase WiiKno will also ensure proper backups are scheduled and configured both fully and incrementally.

A key step to this phase is Veloway’s comprehensive testing.  Before the newly deployed project is released into the next phase, WiiKno will properly test each of, but not limited to the following:

  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Services
  • Failover
  • Backup
  • System Restoration
  • User Access

During the Education phase of the Veloway lifecycle, WiiKno will work with designated departments to provide extensive training.  This includes individual contributors in addition to administrator training and can be provided at various levels depending on the intended use of the system.

  • Executive training
  • Administrator training
  • Individual contributor training
  • Power user training
